Fashion Week Trends
Despite being battered by storms and coronavirus affecting travel plans, the spring fashion weeks have managed to still sparkle. So what will be hot come Autumn/Winter 2020? Here we focus on some key fashion trends for later in the year, whilst also keeping an eye on what eyewear the in crowd are wearing right now.
Go big or go home
Statement puff sleeves were firm favourites in Milan and Paris. Expect OTT sleeves to be a major influence from coats through to office wear, as well as being incorporated into dresses for the party season.
Equally, ruffles were a recurring theme. The layered excess showcased by Alessandro Michele at Gucci stood out, but we particularly loved the ruffled collars, which gave a dramatic yet playful edge to standard suits.
Historically masculine tailoring was a popular theme across the major shows. However, it was almost exclusively paired with feminine detailing, from loose pinstripe trousers with cinched waists to houndstooth checks finished with draped velvet or delicate ruffles.
From Bottega Veneta bags to Etro fringed knits, this statement is one you will either love or hate!
Fashion’s love affair with leather is here to stay. Expect to see more colour make an appearance, but full length trench coats look set to be a staple for Autumn Winter.
